Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Himmamobile application (“Himma”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) handles your information. Himma is operated by Abdul Fathah. We have built Himma to be privacy-respecting: we do not run servers that collect your data, we do not require an account, and we do not use advertising or analytics tracking.

1. Information we do not collect

• We do not require you to create an account or provide your name, email, or phone number to use the app.
• We do not operate analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
• We do not maintain servers that store your personal data.

2. Information processed on your device

The following data is used locally on your device and is not transmitted to us:

• Location. With your permission, Himma uses your device location to calculate accurate prayer times. Prayer times are calculated on your device. Your GPS coordinates are not sent to us.
• Preferences and saved content. Your settings (language, calculation method, reminder times, notification choices) and saved quotes are stored locally on your device only.
• Notifications. Daily quote reminders and prayer-time alerts are scheduled locally on your device. We do not use push notifications and do not track whether notifications are delivered.

3. Third-party services

Himma uses a small number of third-party services. When you use a feature that relies on them, limited data is shared with that provider under their own privacy policies:

• Aladhan Prayer Times API (api.aladhan.com). If location is unavailable and you enter a city manually, that city and country name are sent to Aladhan to retrieve prayer times. Your precise GPS coordinates are not sent.
• Google Fonts.The app may download fonts from Google on first launch, which involves your device’s IP address being shared with Google as part of that request.
• Apple App Store / Google Play. The app is distributed through these stores, which collect their own data as described in their respective privacy policies.

4. Payments

Himma is currently free to use. If paid subscriptions are introduced in the future, payments will be processed by Apple or Google through their in-app purchase systems. We never receive or store your card or payment details.

5. Your choices and controls

• You can grant or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings; without it, you can still use prayer times by entering a city manually.
• You can enable or disable notifications in the app’s Settings or in your device settings.
• You can delete all locally stored data by uninstalling the app.

6. Children’s privacy

Himma is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Data security

Because your data stays on your device, its security is tied to your device’s own protections. We encourage you to keep your device secured with a passcode or biometric lock.

8. International users

Himmacan be used worldwide. The limited third-party requests described above may be processed in countries other than your own, subject to those providers’ policies.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, through an in-app notice.
